NursingCareer is a guide that helps students compare the best online and campus-based nursing programs in the U.S. As a product of Optimal, the goal of this tool is to help prospective nursing students by providing thorough information about different career paths in the nursing field and by ranking the best nursing schools in the U.S. based on median salary and debt information provided by the U.S. government. Choosing the right degree and school can be difficult, and we hope to make information about college outcomes easier to find.
It is our mission to be an authoritative source for students who are interested in a nursing career, and we strive to create valuable resources that help students make important decisions about their career and education. Nancy Lynn Swezey, BSN, RN, CNOR is a coordinator for head and neck surgery for the Mount Sinai Health System in New York City. She graduated with her BSN from Columbia University and has worked in surgery ever since. She is now pursuing her MSN at CUNY Hunter Bellevue School of Nursing to be a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Most of her lessons, however, come outside of the classroom and instead through practice. Nursing continues to be a field that challenges the individual to have courage, principle, a sense of humor, tact, and a constant spirit of service.
Elizabeth Binsfield BA, RN received her ADN over twenty years ago. She has clinical experience in medical-surgical acute care, hospice care, home health and wound care nursing. She has also worked in the fields of organ transplantation, healthcare insurance and care management. In addition to her nursing degree, she holds a BA in English and now combines her passions of healthcare and writing. She lives in central Virginia with her husband and a number of animals. Before entering the nursing field, she would have appreciated knowing just how much her nursing knowledge would influence every aspect of her life.
After working in the education industry for over 9 years as the CEO of Optimal, formerly SR Education Group, Sung became discouraged by how difficult it was to find accurate information about what's truly important to prospective students. He saw the need for sites dedicated to transparency around finding quality education options that are both affordable and accessible.
Sung's an Ivy League grad who's passionate about changing the landscape in higher education so it better reflects the interests of students. He knows prestige doesn't always translate to quality and doesn't want to see students get a raw deal.
